SITARA has been engaged in action programs on several issues with the idea of facilitating informed interventions for the development of varied target groups. The issues that SITARA has addressed mainly include Health problems, women and child development, literacy promotion, Day care center for the orphans, first Aid clinic with specific focus on Tribal development through mobilization, conscientious and program building prioritizing victims of armed conflict, epidemics, and natural and man-made disasters at every juncture on humanitarian grounds.

In the context of IDPs of Chattisgarh, SITARA contributed for the recognition of the rights of the Migrant Tribals from Chattisgarh to get basic amenities by representing the issue of IDPs at various forums like National Child Rights Commission, National schedule tribal commission, National Human Rights Commission, District administration to facilitate recognition to the IDPs in Andhra Pradesh. In 2009 SITARA provided education and nutrition to the IDPs children in 16 hamlet villages, where IDPs settled temporarily.
With the continuous efforts of SITARA, 203 IDP settlements got all ICDS services, Support under AP NREGS, Ration cards, Drinking water, Alternative schools and health services by appointing health workers and linking them with nearby health sub centers. (National Human rights Commission and National Scheduled Tribal Commissions orders are herewith enclosed for information.) Some activist organisations like HRW and development organisations like action aid India, MSF, Goonj, AJWS, local Donors, Government and willing individuals also supporting the organisation for the cause.
